Abbey Miner and Helody Cyrenne bring home MRGC Honors

Abbey Miner wins MRGC Gymnast of the Week

LOGAN, Utah – Juniors Abbey Miner and Helody Cyrenne drew attention during BYU’s meet against UCLA and Utah State on Saturday. On Monday, the two received Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference weekly honors.

Last week, Miner received the title of MRGC Gymnast of the Week and her streak continues after she set a career-high all-around score of 39.375. Her performances on vault (9.850) and floor (9.875) contributed to her record, earning her MRGC Co-Vault and Co-Floor Specialist of the Week. 

Earning the highest score of the night for BYU, Cyrenne shined on the beam with a 9.900. This score contributed to the Cougars earning their highest beam score of the season, a 49.025. She shared this score with Utah State junior Autumn DeHarde and freshman Sofi Sullivan. 

Coming up, BYU will travel down south to face conference rival Southern Utah on Friday, Jan. 24, at 7 p.m. MST.
