No. 17 BYU travels to NCAA Regionals in Baton Rouge

PROVO, Utah – The NCAA announced on Monday that the No. 17 BYU gymnastics team will compete in the Baton Rouge Regional hosted by No. 3 LSU on Friday, Apr. 5.

The Cougars will be competing in the afternoon session against No. 6 Utah, No. 11 Minnesota and Arkansas on Friday, Apr. 5, at 2 p.m. CDT. The evening session will feature No. 3 LSU, No. 14 Auburn, Arizona State and the winner of Lindenwood and George Washington.

The top two teams from each session will then compete on Saturday, Apr. 6, at 7 p.m. CDT.

BYU is one of 36 teams to compete at one of the four regional sites and marks the 10th-straight year the Cougars have qualified.

Last weekend, BYU took third place in the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference Championship after scoring a 195.750. Head coach Guard Young was named MRGC Coach of the Year while junior Shannon Evans claimed Gymnast of the Year honors.
