Evans and Cyrenne earn MRGC Weekly Awards

LOGAN, Utah – Shannon Evans and Helody Cyrenne received Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference weekly honors for their performances against Southern Utah on Senior Night.

Evans was named MRGC Gymnast of the Week after scoring a 39.475 in the all-around, earning a career-best 9.950 on vault, 9.800 on bars, 9.775 on beam and 9.950 on floor. Her performance on vault and floor also led her to be named Vault Specialist of the Week and Floor Specialist of the Week.

The junior extended her weekly honor streak to 10 as she was named Gymnast of the Week, Vault Specialist of the Week and Floor Specialist of the Week for the fourth time this season.

Cyrenne scored a 9.900 on bars, earning the Bars Specialist of the Week award for the second time this season. This is the third award she has received this season.

The Cougars host the MRGC Championship on Friday, Mar. 22, at 6 p.m. MDT.
