Gymnastics releases remaining 2019 schedule

PROVO, Utah – The remaining meets in the 2019 BYU gymnastics schedule were released on Wednesday, head coach Guard Young announced.

The season will begin with four scrimmages that are open to the public. The first two Blue and White intrasquads will take place in the team's training facility in the Smith Fieldhouse on Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 1 p.m. MST and Saturday, Dec. 8, at 10:30 a.m. MST. The annual Blue and White Meet will be held on Friday, Dec. 14, at 6 p.m. MST and on Friday, Jan. 4, the final scrimmage will be a Utah intrasquad. The location for the last two scrimmages will be announced at a later date as well as the time for the Utah intrasquad.

On Friday, Jan. 11, at 7 p.m. MST, the Cougars will host the University of Utah at the Marriott Center. The Utes finished in the top five in 2017. BYU will then travel to Utah State on Friday, Jan. 18, at 7 p.m. MST.

The annual Kids Meet will be on Friday, Jan. 25, at 11 a.m. MST at the Marriott Center. Local elementary schools are invited to join and can find out more information in the coming weeks. 

Two road competitions will kick off February as the Cougars and Arizona State travel to Cal on Saturday, Feb. 2. BYU then joins Springfield and Seattle Pacific at the Air Force Academy on Saturday, Feb. 9.

Cougar Classic Weekend will be on Friday, Feb. 15, as BYU hosts Boise State at 7 p.m. MST. A four-meet road trip begins on Friday, Feb. 22, when BYU travels south to Southern Utah. The Cougars head to George Washington on Friday, Mar. 1, and then back to Boise State on Thursday, Mar. 7. The final road meet will be at Arizona State along with West Virginia on Wednesday, Mar. 13.

The final regular season meet will be at the Smith Fieldhouse on Friday, Mar. 15, at 7 p.m. MST against Southern Utah for Senior Night.

BYU will host the MRGC Championships on Friday, Mar. 22, at 6 p.m. MST in the Marriott Center. NCAA Regionals will take place on Apr. 5-6 with the NCAA Championships on Apr. 19-20 in Fort Worth, Texas.
