Nine freshmen join 2018 gymnastics roster
PROVO, Utah - Nine true freshmen will join the BYU gymnastics roster for the 2018 season.
The team of 24 gymnasts includes four seniors: Kyleigh Greenlief, Mackenzie Douglas, Brittni Hawes and Jill van Mierlo. The roster also includes ten freshmen. Helody Cyrenne will compete as a freshman this season after redshirting last year.
“We have a lot of youth this year with a lot of enthusiasm,” BYU head coach Guard Young said. “I’m excited to see the older girls become mentors to our younger athletes. Our team will definitely be stronger because of that dynamic.”
The nine true freshmen on the roster this year are Abbey Miner, Abby Beeston, Abby Boden, Allegra Clarkson, Aspen Welch, Avery Bennett, Haley Pitou, Jordan Danbury and Melanie Lockhart.
