Hatch named Gymnast of the Week
CEDAR CITY, Utah -- Raquel Willman Hatch was named the Gymnast of the Week by the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Championship for having the best all-around score from the five teams who form the MRGC.
Hatch notched a career-high 39.425 in the meet against Denver last week, with a preivious high of 39.275. The senior also scored a personal-best 9.950 on the uneven bars. In addition, Hatch recorded top-three finishes on vault (9.825/3rd) and floor (9.850/2nd), and used a 9.800 on beam to wrap up her all-around total.
Hatch helped BYU score a season-high 196.425 to finish second just behind Denver's 196.550 at the Smith Fieldhouse.
Teammate Makenzie Johnson won the same award after the first week of the season.
