Maggie Takes Round Two by Storm
EIRE, Colo.—With birdies on three of the final four holes of the day, BYU senior Maggie Yuan skyrocketed up the leaderboard to 19th after round two of the NCAA Regionals on Friday.
“It was great to recover from yesterday,” Yuan said.
After round one Yuan was tied for 70th, but after shooting the third-best score among all competitors in round two, the senior put herself into contention going into the final day.
“Maggie putted the ball very well and had great course mangament,” said BYU coach Carrie Roberts. “She put herself in spots where she had birdie tries rather than trying to save par.”
The final round concludes on Saturday and Yuan feels that she can continue to climb up the leaderboard.
“I know that if I play my best I’ll be able to move on,” Yuan said.
