Final Round Woes

Day 1 Recap

TARZANA, Calif –The BYU women’s golf team slipped on the final day of the Bruin Wave Invitational, finishing 13th on Tuesday.

Annika Afoa led the way for the Cougars shooting a final round 13-over 85, tying for 46th overall. Afoa shot a birdie on hole No. 18, her third of the tournament.

Right behind Afoa was senior Maggie Yuan, who finished tied for 50th. Yuan led the Cougars with four birdies on the tournament, but found the final day to be a battle, as she shot an 18-over 90.

Maria Yacaman, Amanda Keith, and Lauren Atkinson also competed for the Cougars. Keith shot the best final round, with biridies on holes No. 6 and No. 18.

BYU will return home for its only home match of the season on March 19 when it hosts the BYU at Entrada Classic in St. George.
