PROVO -- Juniors Jade Bollinger and Emily Copier were awarded 2009-10 Mountain West Conference Scholar-Athlete honors Wednesday, joining two men’s golfers and 106 other BYU student-athletes.

Bollinger, who received her third-consecutive scholar-athlete award, helped lead the Cougars to a seventh-place finish at the MWC Championships, posting her third-best Cougar score overall to place 30th.

In her first season at BYU, Copier competed in six events, posting a low round of 74 at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic.

A total of 548 MWC student-athletes were honored, one short of the record of 549 student-athletes honored for the 2008-09 academic year.

To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition in an NCCA-sanctioned sport.
