BYU Women's Golf Wraps Up Fall Season

LAIE -- In a tough tournament in which no team finished under par, the BYU women’s golf team placed 15th at the Turtle Bay Collegiate Invitational to end the fall season. The Cougars finished 76 strokes over par (940) and were led by sophomore Maggie Yuan.

The Cougars struggled in the final round as no BYU golfer was able to shoot below 80. Yuan equaled that mark with a birdie on her last hole to get to +8 for the day. Overall, the team co-captain finished the tournament +16 (232) to tie for 47th.

Freshman Kelsey Vines and junior Jade Bollinger each recorded 81s in the third round, nine strokes over par. Vines finished the event just one stroke behind Yuan overall at +17 (233), tying for 51st place. Bollinger was the third Cougar golfer on the leaderboard at+23 (239) overall, tied for 76th.

Two other Cougar golfers also recorded identical scores on the day freshman Amanda Keith and senior Shayla Forsey each notched 84s. Keith finished just ahead of Forsey overall at +25 (241) to tie for 80th. Forsey’s overall score of 28-over-par left her in 87th place. Junior Emily copier, competing independently, tied for 88th place at +30 overall after a final-round 83.
