Women's Golf Heads to NCAA Preview
PROVO -- The Cougars head to New Mexico to play in the Margaret Moses Branch NCAA Preview in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Monday, after kicking off the 2007-2008 season finishing with a tie for third in their first tournament.
Tournament play begins Monday and continues through Wednesday at the UNM Championship Golf Course. The Course, one of the top collegiate venues in the country, plays to a par-73 and 6,069 yards. The teams will play 18 holes everyday with tee times beginning at 8 a.m.
The Cougars will compete in an 18-team field, which features the top-12 finishers from last year?s NCAA Championships, and eight other teams that are ranked in the top 10.
Senior Juli Erekson and sophomore Daphne Vines will lead BYU into the event. Vines, although competing on the B-team, finished the last tournament tied for third with a 1-over-par, 72-70-75--217. Erekson finished tied for ninth, with a 74-75-75--221.
