Cougars host BYU Dixie Classic April 4-5

PROVO -- The 35th-ranked BYU women's golf team will tee off in its last regular-season tournament as they play host at the BYU Dixie Classic in St. George, Utah April 4-5 at Entrada at Snow Canyon.

Coming off a nearly three-week break, the Cougars take on a field of 13 teams at the Entrada Golf Club, including No. 16 Arkansas, No. 26 UNLV and No. 49 Colorado State. Entering the tournament BYU holds its highest ranking in over a decade and is looking for its first tournament victory of the season.

"We're ready to play," said BYU head coach Sue Nyhus. "Practice has been good. We're doing everything to be ready and to clear our minds for the tournament. We're looking forward to a great tournament. I'm looking forward to some of our players breaking out and having some great results."

In their last tournament, the UNLV Spring Invitational, the Cougars finished in seventh place, eleven strokes back of sixth-place UNLV. Sophomore Rachel Newren recorded her fourth top-10 finish (ninth), while freshman Juli Wightman earned her second-best finish of the season (24th place).
