BYU in 12th after Day One of Invitational

SEATTLE -- The BYU women's golf team is in 12th place after one day of play at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Golf Invitational in Seattle, Wash.

The Cougars struggled throughout day one of the three-day tournament. In a field of 13 teams, BYU is 12th with a score of 329. USC resides in the number one spot with 293. Mountain West rivals Washington and New Mexico are tied for fourth place with a score of 309.

Nicole Parry and Summer Fenstermaker had the best day for the Cougars, finishing the day tied in 40th place with an 81, nine over par. Jessica Gardner is in 49th place for the Cougars with a score of 83, while Carrie Summerhays and Adrianne Gibby are in 55th and 61st place, respectively.

The invitational will continue on Tuesday and conclude Wednesday evening. Daily updates will be available on the BYU athletics home page, located at www.byucougars.com.
