BYU Finishes 10th in Invitational

SEATTLE -- The BYU women's golf team came back to claim 10th place in the Edean Ihlanfeldt Golf Invitational Wednesday in Seattle, Wash.

The Cougars fell into an early hole in the first day of play, placing 12th out of 13 teams. Behind the strong play of Carrie Summerhays, however, the team rebounded by day three and managed a 10th place showing with an overall score of 963. USC claimed the overall title, finishing with 878, while Mountain West schools New Mexico and Washington finished fifth and sixth, respectively.

Summerhays played through a rough start to finish tied for 13th place among individual golfers, higher than any other Cougar. Teammate Adrienne Gibby finished 40th, while Summer Fenstermaker came in 50th. Pepperdine's Tamie Durdin took the individual crown with a score of 208, eight under par.
