Women Finish Twelfth in Final Fall Tourney

The 2001 fall season for the BYU women's golf team came to a close Wednesday in Hawaii as the Cougars finish twelfth at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational.

Playing on the par-72, 5,900 yard course at Kapolei Golf Course, the Cougars finished with a three-round score of 941. Mountain West Conference rival New Mexico won the tournament finishing with a score of 884.

Senior Carrie Summerhays finished the best for the BYU, tied for 22nd place with a 54-hole total 204. Natalie Newren finished tied for 44th scoring a 235 over three rounds.

The Cougars finish a good fall seasonand won't begin play until February when they compete in the Lady Aztec Invitational in San Diego.
