Mateo concludes career with 10th-place finish at NCAA San Antonio Regional

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Allysha Mae Mateo capped off her BYU career with a 10th-place finish after a 1-over 73 in the final round of the NCAA San Antonio Regional at TPC San Antonio on Wednesday.

Mateo finished the NCAA San Antonio Regional with rounds of 71-74-73—218 to finish in solo 10th at 2 over par. The senior carded four birdies, including a birdie on her final hole as a BYU Cougar to turn in a 1-over 73 on Wednesday for a 2-over tournament total.

The five-year staple in the Cougar lineup teed it up in 53 events, held a career scoring average of 73.6 and recorded 38 top-25 finishes, 30 top 15s, 25 top 10s, 15 top 5s and two wins during her BYU career. Her 2022-23 scoring average of 72.71 ranks as the third-lowest single-season scoring average in program history (records begin in 1990).

Having graduated with her Master of Accountancy from the Marriott School of Business in April, Mateo now sets her sights on LPGA Tour Qualifying School this coming August 28-31.
