Cougars in 11th after 18 holes of Juli Inkster Meadow Club Collegiate

FAIRFAX, Calif. — BYU shot a 14-over-par 302 in round one of the Juli Inkster Meadow Club Collegiate and sits in 11th place after 18-holes. The second round began on Monday, March 6 but was delayed on Monday evening due to rain and wet course conditions with the second and third rounds being completed on Tuesday.

After one round, No. 1 Stanford (283) led the championship at 5-under-par followed by No. 11 USC (287) at 1-under and host No. 5 San Jose State (293) at 5-over. No. 23 Pepperdine (294) shot 6-over to sit in fourth with No. 30 Texas Tech (295) rounding out the top-5 at 7-over-par.

The Cougars were slow out of the gate with four bogeys and two doubles on the first few holes before finding their grove later in the round. BYU posted a 14-over 302 in round one and sits in 11th, ahead of host San Francisco and Oregon State.

Kerstin Ngakuru led the Cougars on day one with a 1-over 73. The junior carded three birdies and four bogeys en route to sitting in a tie for 16th. Annick Haczkiewicz shot a 3-over 75 and is tied for 27th.

Allysha Mae Mateo is tied for 42nd after an opening 4-over 76. Sunbin Seo posted a 78 in round one with Alexa Udom rounding out the scoring with an 82.

The Cougars will be back in action on Tuesday at 8 a.m. to complete round two with play continuing immediately into the final round. Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
