Cougars head to San Diego State Classic

PROVO, Utah — Coming off a fourth-place finish in Miami this week, BYU women’s golf will be back in action at the San Diego State Classic at the Farms Club, Feb. 13-14.

“I’m proud of how the girls played in Miami this week,” said BYU assistant coach Lea Garner. “The girls stuck to their game plans and really fought when it got windy out there. With four top-50 teams in the field next week in San Diego, we’ll have to bring our A-games and continue to fight.”

Allysha Mae Mateo, Alexa Udom, Adeline Anderson, Lila Galeai and Kerstin Fotu will tee it up as the Cougars take on a 12-team field featuring four top-50 teams in San Diego on Monday and Tuesday.

In addition to BYU, the field will include No. 29 Houston, No. 30 Iowa State, No. 39 Georgia, No. 50 Denver, Colorado State, New Mexico, Oregon State, UC Davis, UNLV, Washington State and host San Diego State.

The 6,329-yard Farms Golf Club will play host to the 54-hole championship. The Cougars will be play with the No. 30 Iowa State Cyclones and Colorado State Rams for the opening 36 holes on Monday, Feb. 13, before learning the pairings for the final round taking place on Tuesday, Feb. 14.
