FAIRFAX, Calif. — BYU women’s golf shot 309 in the final round of the Juli Inkster Meadow Club Collegiate to finish in ninth place, Tuesday.

“It was a rough day for us,” said head coach Carrie Roberts. “The course played harder than previous days and we just didn’t do our job.”

The course played harder for the entire field as No. 1-ranked Stanford (295-283-277—855) was the only team to break par in the final round. The Cardinal put together an 11-under performance, but fell one shot short of the San Jose State Spartans (281-283-290—854), who edged Stanford for the team title.

Washington (292-288-290—870) finished in third at 6-over par followed by the San Francisco Dons (298-281-292—871) at 7-over par. The Cal Golden Bears (299-284-294—877) rounded out the top five of the 13-team event at 13-over. The BYU Cougars finished in ninth after rounds of 292-293-309—894.

Allysha Mae Mateo posted her third top-10 finish of the year behind rounds of 69-70-76—215. The senior finished at 1-under par for the tournament in a tie for 10th.

“Allysha played well,” Roberts said. “We are proud of her for finishing strong in a great field despite the tough conditions.

Annick Haczkiewicz continued her consistent play having recorded top-25 finishes in five-straight events and in six-of-seven events this season. Haczkiewicz fired rounds of 72-73-77—222 to finish tied for 25th.

Addie Anderson finished 39th at 10-over par after rounds of 73-73-80—226. Lila Galeai (80-79-76—235) and Kerstin Fotu (78-77-80—235) rounded out the scoring for the Cougars finishing in a tie for 60th.

The Cougars are back in action April 4-6 at the Silverado Showdown in Napa, California, at Silverado Country Club.
