Cougars head to Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship
PROVO, Utah — BYU women's golf will attempt to keep the momentum rolling from its win at the Dick McGuire Invitational when they tee it up at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate in Knoxville, Tennessee, Sept. 20-21.
The 54-hole event, hosted by the University of Tennessee at Cherokee Country Club, will feature a field including Tennessee, Augusta, Charlotte, Chattanooga, College of Charleton, Eastern Kentucky, East Tennessee State, Kent State, Maryland, Mercer, Miami (FL), Middle Tennessee State, South Dakota State, Texas Tech, UTSA, and Virginia Tech.
BYU will play 36 holes on Monday at the par 71 course that measures 5,946 yards. The final round will be played Tuesday.
The Cougars are coming off their first victory of the 2021-22 campaign at the Dick McGuire Invitational after shooting 8-under par in the final round to top San Jose State by six shots.
Lila Galeai tied for first at the Dick McGuire shooting 10-under par for the tournament. Reigning WCC Golfer of the Year Allysha Mae Mateo, Annick Haczkiewicz, and freshman Addie Anderson all finished in the top-25 to help BYU to the tournament victory.
