Allysha Mae Mateo named WGCA All-American Scholar

PROVO, Utah – Allysha Mae Mateo, the 2020-21 WCC Women's Golfer of the Year, was again honored for her academic and athletic achievements.

Last Friday, the Women’s Golf Coaches Association named Mateo to the WGCA All-American Scholar Team for her outstanding academic and athletic achievements in women's college golf and high moral character.

The junior from Honolulu, Hawaii recorded top-10 finishes in seven of 11 events this season including a fourth-place finish at the WCC Championship. She was equally impressive in the classroom, boasted a 3.96 GPA in accounting in the Marriott School of Business—the nation’s No. 2 ranked accounting program.

In early June, Mateo was named to the All-WCC Academic Team for the second straight season. 

She adds the WGCA All-American Scholar honor to her list of accolades from the 2020-21 season including finished the year with a T-51 finish at the NCAA Stanford Regional.
