BYU headed to Mercer Invitational to close out fall golf

PROVO, Utah – The BYU women's golf team will play in the Mercer Invitational in Macon, Georgia, Nov. 9-10 to finish up its fall season of golf. 

The Mercer Invitational will be held Monday and Tuesday at the Brickyard Golf Club, a Par 72, 6,218-yard course. Teams will play 36 holes Monday followed by a final 18 on Tuesday. 

The Mercer Bears will host the tournament that includes a field of 10 teams. BYU, Coastal Carolina, Southern Mississippi, Troy, Georgia Southern, Western Kentucky, Chattanooga, East Tennessee State and Western Carolina join Mercer at the event. 

The Cougars are coming off an eighth-place finish at the Cowgirl Classic in Oklahoma. Allysha Mae Mateo finished third overall despite windy and rainy conditions. BYU hopes to have better weather and improve in the last fall tournament to set up for the 2021 spring season.
