BYU heads to Cowgirl Classic for second event
PROVO, Utah – The BYU women's golf team will compete in its second of three fall events Thursday and Friday at the Cowgirl Classic in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
The event will be hosted by Oklahoma State at the Karsten Creek Golf Club and include other Big 12 teams such as Oklahoma, Baylor, Iowa State, TCU, Kansas State and Texas Tech. North Texas is also in the field.
"We are excited to play again," BYU head coach Carrie Roberts said. "We are excited to test ourselves on this course and some great competition. Hopefully we can build on our last outing and do better than before."
Last week, Allysha Mae Mateo finished second overall behind a five-under performance at the Lady Red Wolves Classic in Arkansas. The Cougars finished 11th overall at their first event with their four other competitors all shooting their best round in the finals.
Live scoring for the Cowgirl Classic October 22-23 is available on Golfstat.com.
