The Gold Rush Up Next for BYU Women's Golf
SEAL BEACH, Calif. — The BYU women’s golf team returns to action next week, competing in The Gold Rush Feb. 24-25 at Old Ranch Country Club.
"We are excited to compete in warm weather and to improve from last week," BYU head coach Carrie Roberts said. "We're looking forward to seeing if we can execute what we've learned from our last event."
The Cougars are coming off a fourth-place finish at the Rebel Beach Intercollegiate in Las Vegas earlier this week. Annick Haczkiewicz and Allysha Mae Mateo paced the team at the event, finishing 10th and tied for 16th, respectively. The results marked Haczkiewicz’s fourth top-10 finish of the season and Mateo’s fourth top-20 finish.
BYU took fifth last year at The Gold Rush, with Anna Kennedy and Naomi Soifua both placing in the top-25 individually.
This year’s tournament will be hosted by Long Beach State. Teams will play two rounds of 18 holes on Monday and one on Tuesday. Live stats and the leaderboard will be available on Golfstat.com.
