Cougars Set to Compete in Rebel Beach Intercollegiate
LAS VEGAS — The BYU women’s golf team travels to Las Vegas for its second tournament of the spring season, competing in the Rebel Beach Intercollegiate Feb. 17-18 at Spanish Trail Country Club.
“We’re hoping to build off the momentum from the last round of our last tournament and get rolling for the season,” BYU head coach Carrie Roberts said.
The Cougars defeated UC Irvine 3.5-1.5 in the seventh-place match of the Lamkin Invitational earlier this week. Annick Haczkiewicz, Allysha Mae Mateo and Naomi Soifua each picked up individual wins in their respective head-to-head matchups against the Anteaters.
This year marks the third consecutive season BYU will have competed in the Rebel Beach Intercollegiate, with the team placing eighth at last year’s tournament.
UNLV and Long Beach State will co-host the two-day event. Teams will play two rounds of 18 holes on Monday followed by a third and final round on Tuesday. Live stats and the leaderboard can be found on Golfstat.com.
