Huang to compete as individual at NCAA regional

CLE ELUM, Wash. — Rose Huang of BYU women’s golf will compete as an individual at the Cle Elum NCAA Regional at Tumble Creek Club in Washington on May 6-8.

“She has had a great career here at BYU,” BYU head coach Carrie Roberts said. “She has had key wins and been on some of our best teams. I’m excited for her to compete at another regionals and hopefully we can extend her season.”

This is the fourth consecutive NCAA regional for Huang, after she tied for fourth at last year’s Austin Regional to advance to the national championships. She has five top-10 finishes this year, including second place at last week’s WCC Championship in Spokane, Wash.

The University of Washington is hosting the regional and Chanikan (Pluem) Yongyuan of in-state opponent Southern Utah will also be competing. Three individuals will advance from each regional to the national championships on May 17-22 at The Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Ark. Live stats and the leaderboard can be found on Golfstat.
