KAPOLEI, Hawai’i – After two days of rain delays, BYU women’s golf finished sixth overall in the one and only round at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational Wednesday, with Rose Huang taking sixth place individually.

“We had a solid day,” BYU head coach Carrie Roberts said. “But we need to finish better as a team.”

Huang was one under par on the day with a 71, putting her in a sixth-place tie with five other golfers. This is Huang’s second top-ten finish of the season. Naomi Soifua and Annick Haczkiewicz came next for BYU, tied for 22nd with a 74 (+2) in the round.

Anna Kennedy shot a 76 (+4) to finish tied for 33rd and Allysha Mae Mateo was right behind her in 36th with a 77 (+5). All of the BYU golfers finished in the top half of the field of 72 golfers, combining for a 295 team score in the lone round.

Florida International won the tournament with a combined 287.

The tournament ends the team’s fall season, with play resuming in the spring, prior to the West Coast Conference championships and NCAA regionals.
