SEATTLE, Wash. – Rose Huang finished tied for ninth place at the University of Washington Edean Ihlanfeldt Invite on Wednesday, and the Cougars finished seventh overall as a team.

"It was a great finish for Rose," BYU head coach Carrie Roberts said. "She played great in the tournament."

This is the first top-10 finish for Huang this season, after doing so six times last season. She shot a 219 (+3) overall for the tournament, with rounds of 75 (+3), 72 (E) and 72 (E). With the finish, Huang moves into third place in career top-10 finishes for BYU women's golf with 20. She can tie her coach, Carrie Summerhays Roberts, in second place with three more top-10 finishes.

Naomi Soifua and Allysha Mae Mateo finished in the top 30 for BYU, tying for 24th and 30th place, respectively. Annick Haczkiewicz and Anna Kennedy rounded out the Cougar squad in 44th and 57th place.

West Coast Conference foes Pepperdine and San Francisco also competed at the tournament. The Waves took third place and the Dons took eighth.

BYU travels to the hometown of Huang and Mateo for its next tournament, playing in the Rainbow Wahine Invitational in Honolulu, Hawai’i, Oct. 29-31. Live stats and the leaderboard can be found at Golfstat.
