Huang and Yang named women's golf All-American scholars

PROVO, Utah – Junior Rose Huang and senior Annie Yang were two of 1,011 women's collegiate golfers named All-American scholars by the Women's Golf Coaches Association Tuesday. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics, with a minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50. Huang, a food science major with a 3.66 GPA, and Yang, a psychology major with a 4.0 GPA, were previously named to the West Coast Conference All-Academic team.

Huang represented BYU at the 2018 NCAA Championships, finishing tied for 21st, following a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Austin Regional. She also led the Cougars to their third-straight WCC title, taking first place with a two-under-par 214 at the conference tournament.

Yang finished her BYU career recording a season-best 17th place at the WCC championships. Yang also recorded her BYU career-low of 71 in the first round at the Mercedes Benz Collegiate.
