Dalton, White top 10, No. 33 BYU finishes second
FAIRFAX, Calif. — Behind top-10 finishes from Kendra Dalton and Alexandra White, No. 33 BYU women’s golf finished in second place at the Meadow Club Women’s Intercollegiate held at the Meadow Club on Tuesday.
The Cougars finished the tournament at 10-over-par, shooting 3-over in round three. As a team, BYU tied for the third lowest third-round score shot on Tuesday.
San Diego State finished in first place and shot 288 as at team on Tuesday. West Coast Conference foes Pepperdine and San Francisco placed seventh and 12th, respectively.
Dalton fired a 71 in the third round to finish 72-71-71. The junior tied for second individually in the event for her second top-5 finish of the 2016-17 season. Dalton medaled at the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational in September.
White carded the lowest round of any Cougar on Tuesday, shooting 2-under. The senior finished in sixth place overall at the Meadow Club Women’s Intercollegiate. White birdied six holes in round three, birdying 5, 7, 13, 15, 17 and 18.
Rose Huang and Brooklyn Hocker both tied for 15th place. Huang shot even par on Tuesday, while Hocker shot 4-over.
Anna Kennedy and Aiko Leong competed in the event as individuals. Kennedy shot 1-under in round three, her lowest round of the tournament. Leong carded 77-81-78 in three rounds.
