GILBERT, Ariz. — BYU women's golf competed in a four-team match play event, dominating both its opponents 5&1 at the Trilogy Golf Club at Power Ranch on Saturday.

"To win 5&1 against each team is pretty good," BYU head coach Carrie Roberts said. "This event was really good for us to get some match play experience as well as see what we need to work on for our first event in two weeks at Long Beach State. I'm super proud of our composure and confidence throughout the day."

The Cougars dominated in both matches, with the team playing incredibly as a whole.

In their first round morning match, the Cougars beat Colorado State 5&1. Alexandra White and Kendra Dalton both had convincing wins against their opponents. White won her match 6&4 against Katrina Prendergast, while Dalton won 4&3.

Anna Kennedy made three birdies in a row to defeat Jessica Sloot in the morning round 5&3. Lauren Atkinson and Rose Huang also won their matches. Brooklyn Hocker shot 2-under-par in her loss to Ellen Secor, 2UP.

BYU took on Idaho in the second round, also defeating the Vandals 5&1. Dalton recorded her second win 5&4 against Clara Moyano. Kennedy, along with Atkinson, Hocker and Huang also won their matches, with White finishing at 2-under-par in her loss to Sophie Hausmann.
