Huang moves into second, Cougars into first

Day One Results

WAHIAWA, Hawaii – Rose Huang led the BYU women's golf team into first place in the second round of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational at the Leilehua Golf Course, Wednesday.

The Cougars shot another one-over-par round during the second day to take over first place with a total of 578 (+2). Sacramento State remains in second place after they shot four-over-par on the day, giving them a total of 580 (+4). Hawaii dropped from first place to third place, shooting seven-over-par in the second round after a one-under-par finish in the first roud. They currently sit at six-over-par.

Sophomore Rose Huang shot two-under-par on the day and moved into second place after finishing tied for seventh yesterday. She finished the second round with a total score of 142 (-2).

Senior Alexandra White finished the first round tied for seventh with Huang, but shot an even par in the second round to tie for fourth place. White sits with a current score of 144 (E) overall. Kendra Dalton completed the second round shooting two-over-par and dropped to sixth place with a one-over-par total.

Freshman Aiko Leong and senior Brooklyn Hocker are currently tied for 13th and 16th places, respectively. Leong shot one-over-par on the day while Hocker shot three-over-par.

Lauren Atkinson, competing individually, finished the second round shooting eight-over-par, falling to 29th place.

The final round of play will conclude Thursday as the teams begin in a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. HT.
