Hocker wins Idaho Women's Am
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho — Finishing the event at 8-under, BYU senior-to-be Brooklyn Hocker won the Idaho Women's Amateur State Championship held at Pinecrest Golf Course this past weekend.
"I hit the ball pretty well this week, but my short game was probably one of the strongest parts of my game this weekend," Hocker said. "I made a lot of putts. This win definitely makes me excited for more tournaments to come."
The BYU golfer shot a total score of 211 through three rounds of play. Hocker beat all participants by at least 12 strokes, with Amanda Myers coming in second place at 4-over-par.
Going in to the final day, Hocker had a 2-shot lead over Myers. Hocker then birdied four holes on the front nine to take a 14-stroke lead overall at the turn.
Hocker birdied 16 holes at the Idaho Women's Amateur State Championship and shot 9-under on Par 5s.
