WAHIAWA, Hawai'i — After the second round of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational, the BYU women’s golf team is in first place (+8), leading all teams by at least eight strokes.

"We had a great overall team effort today," Cougar head coach Carrie Roberts said. "It's an advantage for us to have such a deep team. Being able to rely on so many players gives our girls confidence that we can compete in any tournament."

Shooting the lowest score of all teams (289), the Cougars shot just one-over-par behind the first place play of teammates Brooklyn Anderson Hocker and Rose Huang. Waikiki native Huang shot three-under-par on the day. She birdied four holes, and sits at three-under-par. Hocker, who finished in first place after Tuesday’s round, shot one-over-par, keeping her first place position at three-under-par.

"Brooklyn continues to work really hard. It's great to see her hard work pay off," Roberts said. "It's also exciting to see Rose playing well, especially in front of friends and family."

Alexandra White shot even par on the day, and is tied for 15th place overall, while Senior Lea Garner is tied for 39th (+10). Kendra Dalton, who is tied for 41st, shot five-over-par on the day.

Individual competitors, Lauren Atkinson (+8) and Carly Oldroyd (+11) are tied for 29th and 41st, respectively.

The third and final round of the Wahine Invitational will be played Thursday. Teams will tee off at 8 a.m. HST (12 p.m. MT). Live stats can be found on the BYU women’s golf schedule page.
