Yacaman, Dalton garner All-America academic honors

PROVO, Utah—BYU’s Maria Yacaman and Kendra Dalton have been named All-America Scholars by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA).

A total of 758 women’s collegiate golfers were recognized with this prestigious honor. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.

Yacaman, a senior from Bogota, Colombia, concluded her senior season with a 3.98 cumulative GPA in information systems. She was named to the 2014-15 West Coast Conference Women’s All-Academic Team. During her final year she finished in the top 20 in two tournaments, tying for 10^th place at the Gold Rush Invitational and 12th place at the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational. Yacaman took 20th place at the WCC Championships. 

Dalton, a freshman from Wake Forest, N. C., had a 3.57 GPA with a major in business marketing. She competed in 12 tournaments during her first year as a Cougar. Dalton tied for 19th place at the BYU Entrada Classic and had the second-best finish on the team at the WCC Championships in 11th place.
