Garner in the middle of the pack after the first day of NCAA regionals
ST. GEORGE, Utah – Lea Garner is tied for 39th after the first day at the 2015 NCAA Division I Women’s Golf St. George Regional Championships.
One of six individuals selected to participate, Garner shot 78 in the first round. Shooting seven-over-par, she is tied with nine others in 39th place.
"I started off pretty well, but not a lot of putts were dropping," Garner said. "Hopefully tomorrow my putting will be there. It is cool being here to compete with the top teams and players. It's different playing as an individual, but some of my teammates are here supporting me, so that is fun."
The second round of the regional championships will begin at 8 a.m. MDT on Friday at the Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club.
