PROVO, Utah – BYU women’s golf is gearing up to host the Entrada Classic tournament in St. George, Utah this Monday and Tuesday, March 16-17.

“Cal and Minnesota are coming,” said BYU head coach Carrie Roberts. “Those are two really good schools and we’re looking forward to competing with them.”

BYU’s Lea Garner, who won the Gold Rush Tournament hosted by Long Beach State in early Feb., will be taking on Cal’s Hannah Sue, currently ranked No. 77 in the country, and Minnesota’s Celia Kuester, No. 80. Before her last two showings in California tournaments plagued by wind, rain and fog, Garner was ranked alongside Sue and Kuester.

In addition to Minnesota, Iowa will also represent the Big 10 in the tournament—Cal is alone from the Pac 12. Boise State and Wyoming will represent the Mountain West, and West Coast Conference rival San Francisco will play as well. Also participating are local schools Southern Utah, Utah Valley, Weber State and Dixie State. Kansas State, North Texas, Texas State and Yale will also compete.

The two-day, 54-hole tournament will take place at the par-72, 7,085-yard Entrada Golf Course in St. George, Utah. The first and second rounds will be held on Monday, March 16, the third round will be played Tuesday, March 17.

Both days will begin with shotgun starts at 8:00 a.m. MST. Live scoring will be available on the BYU women's golf schedule page.
