PROVO, Utah - Freshman Alexandra White has been selected to participate in the 2014 NCAA Division I Women's Golf West Regionals.

"It's a great accomplishment for Alex to qualify for regionals," BYU women's golf coach Carrie Roberts said. "She played very well for us this spring. She worked hard and improved, and I feel she has a great chance to advance."

White, from Forth Worth, Texas, finished in the top 20 in six of her seven tournaments and finished in the top 10 in four of those six this spring season. Her best finish came at the West Coast Conference Championships at 3-over-par where she tied in second.

The last Cougar to qualify for regionals was Maggie Yuan in 2012. Gonzaga will be the only school from the WCC participating as a team.

The West regional will be played at Tumble Creek Club at Suncadia Resort in Cle Elum, Washington on May 8-10. Live stats can be found on the schedule page, here
