Fotu wins spot in USGA Women’s Public Links
PROVO, Utah--BYU’s Selu Fotu won the USGA Women’s Public Links Qualifying round Wednesday at Riverside Country Club. She will compete in the finals of the USGA Public Links to be held at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club in Norman, Okla., June 17-22.
Fotu, a junior from Highland, Utah, and a product of Lone Peak High School, shot a 76 in the qualifying round. Eleven girls competed for the qualifying spot.
During the 2012-13 season, Fotu competed in nine events and had a season-best 18th place finish at the West Coast Conference tournament. She played a key role in helping the Cougar team to a third place finish at the league championships.
