Cross Country garners nine All-Region honors
NEW ORLEANS – BYU cross country totaled nine athletes receiving All-Region honors when the USTFCCCA released its 2021 NCAA Division I award list on Monday.
The USTFCCCA awards All-Region honors those finishing in the top-25 at region championships.
Anna Camp-Bennett, Aubrey Frentheway, Sara Musselman and Anna Martin represented No. 4 BYU women’s cross country as All-Region honorees. This marks the second career All-Region honor for both Camp-Bennett and Musselman. BYU women’s cross country has now garnered 32 All-Region honorees since 2010.
Conner Mantz headlined the five recognized runners from No. 2 BYU men’s cross country. The senior from Smithfield, Utah won the Mountain Region individual championship on Friday at Timpanogos Golf Course with a men’s 10k time of 29:36.9. Mantz is now a three-time All-Region honoree.
Casey Clinger, Brandon Garnica, Aidan Troutner and Davin Thompson were also recognized on the All-Region list. BYU men’s cross country has now received 49 All-Region honorees since 2010.
The Cougars will look to defend their 2020 team and individual national titles as they travel to Tallahassee, Florida this week for the NCAA Division I Cross Country National Championships on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 10 a.m. EST on ESPNU.
