BYU women’s cross country is ranked No. 27 in the latest United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll released earlier this week. The team is ranked for the first time this season after an outstanding performance at the Autumn Classic on Sept. 14.

Andrea Nelson Harrison led the team to victory with the top five Cougar runners placing in the top 10. BYU beat conference rival Portland by two points for first place.

Maren Fassman was a key element in the Autumn Classic win, beating out two Portland runners for 11th place and securing BYU’s low score of 37 points.

BYU’s jump into the rankings was also aided by its win over Weber State – previously ranked No. 24 – at the Autumn Classic.

Visit USTFCCCA.org for the complete rankings.

The team is preparing for its next meet at the Notre Dame Invitational on Oct 4.
