SAN MATEO, Calif. — BYU softball's Chloe Temples was named the first West Coast Conference pitcher of the week in the 2022 season, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
A junior transfer from Stetson University, Temples made her pitching debut for the Cougars against UNLV and the University of Hawai'i in the Rebel Classic last weekend. In two games and 8.0 innings pitched, she totaled 13 strikeouts while allowing just five hits and only one run. Temples also finished the weekend with one walk and had an ERA of just 0.88.
Against UNLV on Thursday, she pitched one inning and dished out three strikeouts. Temples then threw a complete game against the University of Hawai'i on Friday, when she registered an early career-high of 10 strikeouts to secure a 2-1 victory for BYU.
