BYU softball announces signing of left-handed pitcher Olivia Laney

PROVO, Utah — BYU softball head coach Gordon Eakin has announced the signing of Olivia Laney, who will join the Cougars for the 2024 season.

Hailing from Charlotte, N.C., Laney is a five-foot-11 left-handed pitcher, who will come to Provo from Legion Collegiate Academy.

Laney Career Highlights

  • 7A state champion at Lakewood Ranch High School
  • Named to the all-state team in 8th-10th grade

Laney joins pitcher Kate Dahle, catcher Abbey Gillespie and pitcher/outfielder Gianna Mares as the four members of BYU’s 2023 recruiting class.
