Jensen named to CoSIDA Academic All-District
PROVO, Utah – Senior outfielder Rylee Jensen was named the CoSIDA Academic All-District team on July 1.
Jensen an Excercise and Wellness major graduated in April with a 3.42 GPA. Out of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Jensen recorded a 3.42 GPA through five years at BYU. The senior had a .393 batting average this season, good for second on the team. Jensen also set school records in career runs, career doubles, games started and games played. She also finished the season tied for 12th in the NCAA with 20 home runs.
To be considered for the award, an athlete had to be a main contributor or important reserve, be at least a sophomore academic as well as have a minimum 3.30 GPA.
The 2020-21 Academic All-District Softball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in late July. The CoSIDA Academic All-District teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages and are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada.
