Freshman Violet Zavodnik plates four runs in Blue-White game

PROVO, Utah – Freshman Violet Zavodnik plated four runs on three hits with one double in the Blue vs. White softball game on Saturday afternoon at Gail Miller Field. 

The white team got an early start in its 11-2 win, scoring four runs in the top of the first inning followed by three apiece in the next two innings.

Game Highlights: 

White Team: 

Violet Zavodnik

  • Freshman Violet Zavodnik helped the white team to the 11-2 win scoring four runs on three hits and a double. 
  • In the top of the third Zavodnik showed her strength in center field, robbing a homer from the blue team's Bridget Fleener. 

Huntyr Ava

  • Returning for her sophomore campaign, Huntyr Ava is continuing right where she left off last season, recording five RBI including a two-run double in the second inning

Autumn Moffat-Korth

  • Senior Autumn Moffat-Korth continued as one of BYU's aces pitching four innings allowing only two runs on two hits with one strikeout.

Blue Team

Rylee Jensen-McFarland

  • Rylee Jensen-McFarland continued with her leadoff duties in the lineup recording one run on two hits. 

Carly Brown

  • Carley Brown came in as a relief pitcher allowing only one hit and keeping the hitters scoreless through three innings. 

The Cougars will play two more Blue vs. White scrimmages before they close out fall practices.
