No. 25 BYU's final two games in Las Vegas canceled due to weather
LAS VEGAS – No. 25 BYU softball’s two remaining games at the DeMarini Desert Classic were canceled Saturday when heavy rainfall in Las Vegas made field conditions unplayable.
The Cougars (5-2, 0-0 West Coast Conference) finish the DeMarini Desert Classic with a 3-0 record after defeating Hawai’i, Texas State and Nevada during tournament play on Thursday and Friday.
BYU was scheduled to face both San Jose State and Northern Iowa at Eller Media Stadium on Saturday before the forced cancellation of those games.
Next week, the Cougars will face some of the top competition in the nation at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Cathedral City, California.
