PROVO, Utah– Sophomore Sydney Broderick collected her third consecutive Player of the Week honor as announced by the West Coast Conference Monday.

Broderick fueled BYU’s offense last week, leading the Cougars (25-8) to four wins including a sweep of Saint Mary’s to open WCC play.

The catcher out of Ashburn, Virginia, upped her season batting average to .400 while hitting 9-for-16 with three doubles, three home runs and nine RBI including her second multi-home run game of the season. She registered a .562 OBP with a 1.312 slugging percentage.

With BYU up 2-1 in game two against Saint Mary’s, Broderick drove a two-out home run to right field for her second of the game, pushing the score to 3-1. In the third game against the Gaels, she was responsible for four RBI on two two-run doubles. Across the four games, she hit 4-for-8 with runners in scoring position.

In addition to the WCC honor, she was also named College Sports Madness WCC Player of the Week.
