Men’s tennis team and players receive ITA academic accolades
PROVO, Utah – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association has named the BYU’s men’s tennis team a 2020 Division I Men’s ITA All-Academic Team honoree, while four Cougar players received ITA Scholar-Athlete citations.
During the 2019-20 campaign, 970 Division I men’s tennis student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes and 186 men’s tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
David Ball (3.81 GPA), Vinicius Feijao Nogueira (3.78 GPA), Matheus Ferreira Leite (3.58 GPA) and Sean Hill (3.9 GPA) were the four BYU players who picked up scholar-athlete awards.
Student-athletes who had a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and were listed on the institutional eligibility form were awarded the academic honors.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale), all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility from, and all varsity letterwinners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
