Sean Hill named ITA Mountain Region Senior Player of the Year
PROVO, Utah – BYU’s Sean Hill has been named the ITA Mountain Region Senior Player of the Year, the ITA announced today.
Hill, a senior from Berkeley, California, was the singles champion of the ITA National Fall Championships and was named to the West Coast Conference All-Preseason Team for the second-straight season. He also posted an 18-5 singles record and a 12-6 doubles record.
During his junior campaign, Hill advanced to the semifinals at the ITA Mountain Regional Championships in both singles and doubles. He was named the ITA Player to Watch in the Mountain Region and ranked No. 2 in the region in singles and was ranked No. 1 in doubles play with teammate Jeffrey Hsu.
After playing at Wake Forest for one season, Hill made an immediate impact on the Cougar team as a sophomore, becoming the first player to represent BYU at the ITA Fall National Championships in singles play.
Hill was a two-time All-WCC First Team honoree in singles, was named to the All-WCC First Team Doubles with Hsu once and made the All-WCC Doubles Second Team once. The duo also garnered three WCC Doubles Team of the Week accolades.
He finished his BYU career with a 66-22 record in singles and a 54-21 mark in doubles play.
