Day One of MPSF Championships

MONTEREY PARK, Calif. – The men and women’s swim team made a strong showing in the first day of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation conference championships with the success of relay teams advancing the women to third place and the men to fifth. 

The women’s 200-medley relay team of Kim Welsh, Allie Dodds, Angela Bennion and Candice Smith touched in at a time of 1:42.03 to gain third place and 32 points.

In the men’s heat, Jordan Fletcher, Brady Wells, David Armstrong and Garret Beaman achieved sixth place with their time of 1:30.22. Their race earned the team 26 points.

The next event was the women’s 800 free relay where Welsh, Bennion, Dodds and Smith finished third and received 32 points once again with their time of 7:21.14.

For the men, Stott Bushnell, Andrew Rutherfurd, Seth Russell and Samuel Bates grabbed 30 points for fourth place with their time of 6:35.14.
